Fuzzy Based Dynamic Statistical Region Merging Algorithm For Remote Sensing Image Segmentation
Abstract
Image segmentation is an essential tool in image processing and can serve being an efficient front end to
sophisticated algorithms and thereby simplify subsequent processing. In this paper, we proposed a statistical region growing
procedure combined with hierarchical region merging. The region growing step over segments the input radar image, thus
enabling region aggregation by employing a combination of the fuzzy logic and Dynamic Statistical Region Merging
algorithm for performance improvement. The MATLAB is used as a tool for performing this study. The DSRM using fuzzy
logic is used to optimize the results of SRM algorithm. A remote sensing image is used to perform the segmentation process
and obtain the results.
