Paper Title
Designing Website with Visual Hierarchy for Proper Eye Movement of The Users
Abstract
When building a user interface for any website, certain user expectations must be satisfied regarding visual
aesthetics and usability.Visual hierarchy is an important aspect of user interface (UI) design which focuses on the
arrangement of elements to facilitate easy information perception by users. It directs users' eye movements through crucial
areas on screens that can be used to complete their intended tasks. This paper focuses on studying visual hierarchy as one of
the visual design concepts and how to implement it in websites for proper eye movement of the users. In this study, two
prototypes were designed considering the non-visual and visual hierarchy of elements. Later user testing was performed on
both the prototypes to extract results and conduct a comparative study. The findings of the study can provide empirical
suggestions for designing websites with visual hierarchy.
