Paper Title
A Survey on Processor Allocation Strategies

Abstract
Efficient processor allocation and job scheduling are critical if the full computational power of large-scale multi computers is to be harnessed effectively, processor allocation for such multi-computers has attracted the interest of many researchers .in this paper The results of research carried out in the contiguous and noncontiguous processor allocation were investigated. Research has shown that most of today’s environments have a non-migratory model of processor allocation. The reduction in external fragmentation that results from lifting the contiguity condition has been shown to be more significant than the extra communication overhead associated with non-contiguity have indicated that noncontiguous allocation is superior to contiguous allocation. Key words- Processor Allocation; Job Scheduling; Contiguous Allocation; Noncontiguous Allocation.
